What is a baking steel?

A thick steel plate that stores heat and transfers it quickly into dough for stronger oven spring and crispier bottoms.

How is it different from a pizza stone?

Steel conducts heat faster than stone, so it recovers faster between pizzas and gives a more aggressive bottom bake.

Will it fit my oven?

The whole point is custom sizing. You measure your oven and we build around those dimensions and clearances.

Do I need to season it?

Final care instructions will ship with the product. Expect simple oil-and-heat maintenance similar to carbon steel cookware.

Can I use it for bread?

Yes. It is useful for bread, focaccia, flatbreads, and anything that benefits from strong bottom heat.
